Forever Home Blues

3 Weeks.....

That's the amount of time that we have not worked on the Forever Home. It feels like time is passing and the Forever Home is just standing still.

It's been tough for us to cope with this nasty weather and yes we fully understand that we cannot do anything about this but owning two homes is taking a toll on us. We need to get our feet moving, dig deep and find the motivation to go and work.

Everything is 100 times harder when you have to do pre-prep work to actually work.

Shovel the additions out for an hour

Layer on the extra clothing

Work in big winter gloves that make it hard to carry wood

Stand on ladders that are barely safe due to snow and ice below

Deal with a runny nose

Shovel one driveway, snow blow the second driveway

Split wood for the fireplace

Fix the car, fix the car, fix the car(don't ask, we are pretty sure my car has put a spell on me)

This list can go on and on and on.............................

I suppose I need to look at the positive side - the insulation is sitting in the basement ready to go

To leave you on a positive note I came across this quote and had to share since "it was rather beautiful"

  1. I can't even begin to imagine! I honestly don't know if I could do a 1/4 of what you guys are doing. I have so much respect for you. Your patience and hard work will pay off times a million. Hopefully March will bring the break to this somewhat brutal winter.

    1. Hi Julie!!! Thank you so much!
You would be very surprised what your body, mind, and soul could do when you dig deep for motivation. Trust me we have gone there on many occasions to remind ourselves the outcome of our hard work.

    1. I pray to the big dudes up there every day for better weather....not just for me but for every poor soul out there that has to put on 10 layers of clothing just to go outside!

    1. I keep in thinking that every time I look at the weather network a good thing will happen. It hasn't and for my mental health I have stopped looking at the weather network.

  4. I blame it on our winter. WHHHHAAAA. It has been a cray cray winter and that makes everything depressing. I think next year, we should all be working on an island somewhere. That seems very reasonable :) You in? xx

    1. An island you say!!!! WE can get there by boat which means we wouldn't have to FLY!

      WHO AM I KIDDING!

I would leave the hubby behind to jet off to an island in a second.

WAIT - he reads the comments. Damn

    1. Thanks Lady!!! I am hoping once the nicer weather rolls around I can have a little bloggers get together at the "Forever Home" - a day of hiking in the forest and relaxing around a fire. :)
